Que un hombre se trence el cabello no es algo nuevo: basta con ver imágenes o pinturas de diferentes épocas, como el Antiguo Egipto, las culturas nativas americanas o los vikingos, por nombrar algunos. Sin embargo, recientemente las trenzas en los varones se han puesto bastante de moda y ahora el concepto de "manbraid" es familiar para muchos que en otro momento lo hubieran considerado un estilo poco masculino.
